Here is a Neo-Impressionist Painting I did for Intermediate Painting last year. The medium was oil on canvas and it was "18 x 24" in. It was inspired by a recent photo taken of me at the park in Los Angeles and the Impressionist paintings of Claude Monet and Vincent Van Gogh which used nature as the main subject during that time. The colors were lemon green, brown, pink, red, and mauve with the trademark shading style of stippling in contrast to the naturalistic style in the Academic Realism movement in Paris, France.
Impressionism paved thee way for modern styles of art such as Fauvism, Surrealism, Cubism, and Abstract Expressionism.
